Role Profile
Make UK are seeking a Microsoft Business Applications Developer to design, develop, integrate and support business applications, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Power BI.
The role will work to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable and user-focused solutions, while improving automation, data quality and interoperability between line-of-business systems.
Working closely with business stakeholders, IT colleagues and third-party suppliers, the postholder will own the technical delivery of enhancements and interfaces throughout the application lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through development, testing, deployment, documentation and operational support.
The Role
Power Platform Development
- Develop and optimise Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
- Use Dataverse and connectors in line with security and governance standards.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve inefficient processes.
Power BI & Reporting
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and data models.
- Connect Power BI to Dynamics 365, Dataverse, SQL Server and other data sources.
- Use Power Query and DAX to deliver accurate, high-performing reporting solutions.
- Manage Power BI security, governance, deployment and platform performance.
- Troubleshoot reporting, data quality, refresh and access issues.
Systems Integration
- Develop and support integrations between Dynamics 365, ShareDo, SunSystems and other business applications.
- Work with APIs, web services, data files and integration services.
- Implement appropriate validation, monitoring, logging and error handling.
- Diagnose and resolve integration issues with internal teams and suppliers.

Requirements & Solution Design
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and processes.
- Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Recommend appropriate platform capabilities and challenge requirements where necessary.
- Ensure solutions align with Make UK technology standards.
Development & Change Management
- Manage development through test and production environments.
- Apply appropriate source control, release management and application lifecycle practices.
- Support testing, UAT, deployment and post-release validation.
- Ensure changes follow agreed governance and change control processes.
Data, Security & Governance
- Apply secure-by-design, data protection and least-privilege principles.
- Support data migration, cleansing, transformation and reconciliation.
- Maintain Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Power BI governance and technical standards.
- Consider licensing, capacity, connectors and platform governance when designing solutions.
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide technical support for business applications, Power BI, automations and integrations.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
- Monitor solution performance, reliability and supportability.
- Manage technical debt, defects and continuous improvement opportunities.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain technical specifications, system diagrams, interface documentation and support procedures.
- Produce release notes and user or administrator guidance.
- Share knowledge with colleagues and suppliers to support effective knowledge transfer.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Support and deliver smaller business-driven IT projects to agreed scope, timescales and budget.
- Manage competing project and operational priorities.
- Build effective relationships with business users, application owners, suppliers and technical partners.
- Communicate progress, risks, dependencies and technical decisions clearly.
About you
- Proven experience developing and supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 and Dataverse
- Strong Power BI experience, including dashboards, reports, semantic models and paginated reports.
- Proficiency in Power Query and DAX, including data modelling, transformation and performance optimisation
- Experience connecting Power BI to Dynamics 365, Dataverse, SQL Server and on-premises data sources
- Good knowledge of Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric security, governance, deployment and environment management
- Experience developing and supporting system integrations, using APIs, web services, data files and integration services
- Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical designs and scalable solutions
- Experience with application lifecycle management, source control, testing, release and deployment
- Understanding of secure-by-design, data protection and platform governance principles
- Experience providing application support, incident resolution, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills
- Experience delivering smaller IT projects while managing competing priorities
- Excellent stakeholder and supplier management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with SunSystems and/or ShareDo (Clio Operate)
- Development experience with JavaScript, C#,.NET, Power Platform CLI or Dynamics 365 plug-ins
- Relevant Microsoft Power Platform or Dynamics 365 certification
