Business Architect
Location: Leiston, UK
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 Days per Week
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Rate: £500 per day (inside IR35)
Are you an experienced Business Architect / Business Analyst with a strong background in infrastructure, connectivity, telecommunications and major construction programmes?
We’re looking for a Business Architect to support the Business Architecture Lead within the IT Infrastructure Services team. The role will focus on defining and delivering business architecture solutions across a major construction and operational environment, with particular emphasis on site connectivity, infrastructure mobilisation, stakeholder coordination and supplier management.
The successful candidate will work closely with construction, facilities, IT, network, operational and supplier teams to ensure connectivity and infrastructure requirements are clearly defined, delivered and successfully transitioned into operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate site connectivity and infrastructure initiatives across multiple construction and operational workstreams
- Act as the primary interface between site operations, Digital & IT, suppliers and programme delivery teams
- Support the mobilisation of connectivity services into new buildings, compounds and operational areas
- Engage with facilities, construction, logistics and contractor teams to understand requirements and site constraints
- Translate business and operational requirements into clear, structured IT and delivery requirements
- Coordinate network, telecommunications and infrastructure suppliers, ensuring delivery commitments are tracked
- Support physical hardware fit design, planning, procurement and installation
- Support the development of project mandates, investment cases and project documentation
- Coordinate governance, assurance and approval activities
- Support RFI, ITT and supplier evaluation processes
- Identify and proactively escalate risks, blockers, dependencies and delivery issues
- Maintain stakeholder alignment across operational, technical and project teams
- Support operational readiness, transition and handover activities

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Architect, Business Analyst, Business Change Manager or similar
- Experience across infrastructure, networking, telecommunications or connectivity projects
- Experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure or capital programmes
- Experience with site mobilisation and physical infrastructure delivery
- Experience with hardware fit design, planning, procurement and installation
- Strong stakeholder management across Facilities, Construction, IT, Network and Operations
- Experience coordinating Internet, telephony, network and telecommunications service providers
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical IT delivery packages
- Experience with formal project management methodologies and governance
- Experience supporting RFI, ITT, procurement and supplier evaluation
- Experience developing or supporting investment/business cases
- Comfortable working within a live construction/site environment
- BPSS clearance minimum

Desirable Experience
- Experience within nuclear, energy or other regulated environments
- Familiarity with ONR licence conditions and nuclear/cyber security requirements
- Experience with PRINCE2, EDF Project Way or similar frameworks
- Experience on major capital programmes such as HS2, Lower Thames Crossing, Thames Tideway or TransPennine Route Upgrade
- Experience working with major construction contractors and infrastructure suppliers
- Relevant qualifications in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, IT, Process Management or Management Information
