Start Your Career in Commercial Finance

Balance for Business Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing commercial finance brokerage as a Business Associate (Apprentice).

This is the starting point of a structured five-year career development programme, designed to give the right person the qualifications, practical experience, commercial knowledge, and confidence needed to build a successful career within the commercial finance industry.

You will start by working towards Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, while learning directly from experienced members of our team and gaining hands-on experience within a working commercial finance brokerage.

What Is Commercial Finance?

Balance for Business helps businesses, property investors and property developers find and arrange the funding they need.

Unlike traditional high-street banking, commercial finance often involves understanding a client's individual circumstances and identifying the most appropriate funding solution from a range of lenders.

Our work covers areas including:

  • Investment & Trading Business Commercial Mortgages
  • Buy-to-Let Finance.
  • Bridging Finance.
  • Property Development Finance.
  • Property Investment Finance.

You will gradually learn how different types of finance work, what lenders are looking for, how finance applications are structured and how we help take a client from their initial enquiry through to completion.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will work closely with our case processing and business development teams, learning how the business operates from the ground up.

Your responsibilities will develop as your knowledge and experience grow.

Your role may include:

  • Supporting the processing of commercial finance applications
  • Helping gather information and documentation from clients
  • Communicating with clients, lenders, solicitors, valuers and other professionals
  • Updating clients and lenders as finance applications progress
  • Learning how to use our internal systems and CRM
  • Researching lenders and finance products
  • Understanding lender criteria and how different funding solutions work
  • Helping prepare and package finance applications
  • Supporting senior members of the team with active cases
  • Developing professional telephone and email communication skills
  • Building relationships with clients and lenders
  • Learning how new business opportunities are identified and developed
