About the Role
The Business Assurance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Director and Senior Manager of Business Assurance in delivering an effective first line assurance framework. The role is responsible for providing high quality management information, supporting Training & Competence (T&C) MI, and ensuring robust documentation is maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and enhancing business data and MI to provide meaningful insight into customer outcomes and emerging risks. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the role will identify trends, undertake root cause analysis, and help develop practical solutions that strengthen internal controls and support continuous improvement. The role will also support the ongoing maintenance of key Business Assurance policies and procedures, ensuring these remain current, effective, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Business Assurance and Senior Manager in the delivery of Business Assurance and Training and competence framework.
- Produce, analyze, and enhance management information (MI) to support effective first line oversight and informed decision making.
- Manage the administration and monitoring of Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) renewals and financial planner accreditation records.
- Assist in maintaining Business Assurance T&C records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and strengthen data quality, governance, and reporting processes to improve accuracy and consistency.
- Support thematic reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives arising from Business Assurance activity.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business to promote a culture of continuous improvement and good customer outcomes.
- Ensure all work supports FCA regulatory expectations, Consumer Duty principles, and internal governance standards.
Regulatory Responsibilities | Compliance/T&C
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
- Understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local, and Group Compliance and Risk policies.

About You | Qualifications, Skills, and Strengths
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful management information.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Power Bi skills, with experience of producing dashboards and MI reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience of policy and procedure management within a regulated environment.
- Ability to identify root cause analysis and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Confident stakeholder and the ability to work collaboratively within the Team and across the wider business.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of the team.
- Ability to influence and challenge constructively, using evidence and data to support recommendations.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and encourage collaborative problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of the wider business context.
