About Paradise Computing
Paradise Computing is an established business software and technology provider helping organisations improve the way they work through practical, well-supported solutions. As we continue to grow our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central practice, we are looking for an experienced Functional Consultant to join the team.
The Role
This is a varied, customer-facing role covering discovery, implementation, configuration, training and ongoing improvement. You will work closely with customers to understand how their business operates, translate their requirements into practical Business Central solutions and support them through successful delivery and adoption.
Our particular focus is on distribution and manufacturing businesses, so this role would suit someone who enjoys getting beneath the surface of a customer’s processes and delivering measurable operational improvements rather than simply configuring software.
- Meet customers to understand their objectives, current processes, challenges and requirements.
- Lead and participate in discovery workshops across finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing and related business processes.
- Translate business requirements into practical Business Central solutions, making effective use of standard functionality wherever possible.
- Configure Business Central, including financial management, sales, purchasing, inventory, fixed assets, dimensions, workflows, approvals, security roles and the user experience.
- Document processes, functional requirements, decisions, assumptions, risks and agreed scope.
- Identify where extensions, integrations or bespoke development are required and produce clear functional specifications for the Development Team.
- Support data migration, testing, cutover, go-live and post-go-live activities, including data validation and reconciliation.
- Prepare and deliver demonstrations, playback sessions, user training and supporting documentation.
- Investigate functional issues, identify root causes and coordinate resolution with customers, developers, partners and other Paradise teams.
- Work with Project Management to deliver assigned activities within agreed timescales, scope and budget.
- Provide ongoing functional support and identify opportunities to improve or extend customers’ use of Business Central and the wider Microsoft platform.
- Support pre-sales activity, including discovery, demonstrations, estimates, proposals and statements of work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
