The Opportunity

We're looking for an exceptional Business Centre Operations Leader to help shape the future of Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line in the UK.

At Stantec, our Environmental Services teams help clients solve some of the most complex challenges facing society today, from energy transition and water resilience to nature recovery, sustainable development and critical infrastructure.

As we continue to grow, we're seeking a commercially minded and inspiring leader who can combine strategic vision, operational excellence and people leadership to drive performance, develop talent and create lasting value for our clients and communities.

If you're energised by building high-performing teams, delivering sustainable growth and making a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.

About The Role

As Business Centre Operations Leader, you’ll be accountable for the commercial, operational and people performance of a major part of our Environmental Services Business Line.

Working alongside a fellow BCOL and senior leaders across growth, technical excellence and other disciplines, you’ll turn strategy into strong business performance and sustainable growth.

This is a visible and influential role where you’ll shape priorities, develop leaders, strengthen culture and help ensure our Environmental Services business is resilient, collaborative and future-ready.

You’ll lead a team of around 200 professionals across environmental planning and advisory, climate and sustainability, air quality, ecology, arboriculture, acoustics and related disciplines.

This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our market position, grow market share and build a leading Environmental Services business. You’ll play a key role in shaping its future and positioning Stantec at the forefront of the sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
