Business Change Manager

Rate: £450–£550 per day Umbrella, Inside IR35
Location: London – Hybrid
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential extensions

We are seeking an experienced Business Change Manager to join a major transformation programme impacting 45,000+ employees and officers across a large public-sector organisation.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring someone who can hit the ground running, manage complex change and drive adoption across large, dispersed and change-resistant user groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver change and communications strategies.
  • Manage change across large-scale and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Establish and manage change networks and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead change impact assessments and business readiness activities.
  • Support training, communications and user adoption.
  • Manage resistance and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure change activity is joined up across multiple workstreams.
  • Adapt the change approach based on user feedback and operational requirements.
  • Deputise for change leadership when required.

About You

You will have:

  • Strong experience delivering complex business/people change programmes.
  • Experience managing change across large user populations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Proven experience managing resistance and driving adoption.
  • Experience with change networks, readiness assessments and impact assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A hands-on, proactive and self-starting approach.
  • The ability to switch between strategic planning and tactical delivery.
