Senior Business Change & Architecture Lead
Rate: £645 per day inside IR35
Contract: 6-month rolling contract
Location: Bristol
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Change & Architecture Lead to support a major, complex infrastructure programme. This is a senior role focused on shaping business architecture, operating models, and business change across a large-scale, highly regulated environment.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, suppliers, and delivery partners to define business needs, develop effective solutions, and ensure change delivers measurable operational and strategic benefits.
The Role
As a Senior Business Change & Architecture Lead, you will:
- Lead engagements with senior business stakeholders to define project concepts, scope, impacts, risks, and dependencies.
- Analyse and design business processes, operating models, and ways of working across complex organisational environments.
- Capture, challenge, and prioritise business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Work with internal teams and external delivery partners to develop and assess solution options.
- Develop robust business cases and investment proposals, clearly articulating benefits, costs, and opportunities to maximise value.
- Act as the custodian of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions remain aligned with agreed outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to remove duplication, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation and adoption of new processes and systems, including walkthroughs, testing, and business readiness activities.
- Ensure initiatives operate within appropriate governance, assurance, procurement, and regulatory frameworks.
- Support procurement activity including RFI/ITT processes and supplier evaluation.
- Integrate processes and systems across organisational boundaries and identify key interdependencies.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

About You
We are looking for a senior Business Architect, Business Change Lead, or Business Analyst with strong experience operating across complex transformation programmes.
You should have:
- Strong experience in business architecture and business change within complex, evolving organisations.
- Excellent business process analysis and design capability.
- Proven ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience developing and maintaining business requirements through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business problems and develop practical solutions.
- Proven experience developing business cases and investment proposals for large or complex programmes.
- Experience working with procurement teams and supporting RFI/ITT and supplier evaluation processes.
- Experience working within formal project management and governance frameworks, such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- Ability to translate business strategy into actionable objectives, processes, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the wider impact of business and technology decisions.

Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or other safety-critical / asset-intensive environments.
- Large-scale business transformation or change programmes.
- Regulated environments with stringent security, governance, or compliance requirements.
- Enterprise IT, digital transformation, or technology-enabled business change.
- Business architecture frameworks, standards, and modelling tools.
