Business Change Manager
Business Change Manager required on a 12 month fixed term contract, to join a large-scale transformation programme within a complex organisation with a significant presence across Scotland and the UK.
This is a major transformation initiative covering technology, customer journeys, ways of working and organisational culture. The organisation is investing heavily in modernising how it operates, introducing new technology with the customer experience in mind while supporting its people through a significant period of change.
You’ll join an established Business Change function and work alongside project teams, senior leaders and a wide range of stakeholders to make sure transformation is successfully adopted and embedded across the organisation.
The Company
This is a large, complex organisation operating in an environment where technology, operational efficiency and customer experience are becoming increasingly important to its future.
The business is going through a significant period of modernisation, with major transformation initiatives spanning new technology, customer journeys, internal ways of working and wider cultural change.
With a large and diverse workforce, successfully delivering this transformation will depend as much on how people adapt as it does on the technology itself. The organisation is therefore investing in its internal change capability, moving towards greater ownership of transformation rather than relying heavily on external consultancy support.
You’ll be joining a comprehensive Business Change team, working alongside experienced change professionals and having the opportunity to contribute to how change is delivered across the wider organisation.
The Role
You’ll help deliver business change across a number of major transformation initiatives, taking responsibility from initial planning through to adoption and embedding.
You’ll work with project teams and senior stakeholders to understand what is changing, who will be affected and what needs to happen for people to successfully adopt new processes, technology and ways of working. This will involve developing change strategies, assessing impacts, building engagement and ensuring teams are ready for what is coming.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Technology is a significant part of the programme, but this isn't purely a technology change role. A lot of the work focuses on customer journeys and how new technology can improve the customer experience, alongside wider cultural and organisational programmes.
The team follows Prosci ADKAR and takes an agile approach to change, while also valuing LEAN thinking and continuous improvement. You’ll be expected to use structured change management practices while adapting your approach to the needs of each programme.
There is also significant stakeholder exposure, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with senior leaders, project teams, training specialists and operational colleagues, providing advice and influencing decisions throughout the change journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business change activity across major transformation initiatives from strategy and planning through to adoption and embedding
- Develop and deliver structured change strategies and plans, using Prosci ADKAR and other appropriate change management approaches
- Assess the impact of changes across people, customer journeys and technology and identify the support required to transition teams successfully
- Work closely with project and technology teams to build change activity into transformation programmes from the outset
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the change journey
- Coordinate communications, engagement, readiness and training activity to help people understand and adopt new ways of working
- Support cultural and behavioural change programmes alongside technology and process transformation
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve customer journeys and ways of working, applying LEAN thinking and continuous improvement principles
- Monitor adoption and readiness, identifying barriers and taking action to address them

About You
- Proven experience delivering business change across large-scale transformation programmes, ideally with genuine end-to-end ownership
- Comfortable working across technology, process, people and cultural change rather than specialising in one particular area
- Strong knowledge of change management methodologies, ideally including Prosci ADKAR, alongside an understanding of project lifecycles and governance
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work with senior leaders
- Experience working in complex, operationally critical environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and significant interdependencies
- Ideally, experience within a regulated industry or another environment where change needs to be carefully managed
- Comfortable working in an agile environment with an interest in LEAN thinking and continuous improvement
- Pragmatic and adaptable, with the ability to apply change methodology appropriately rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach
They are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate taking complex change through the full lifecycle, rather than experience focused solely on communications, training or one specific stage of a transformation.
