Business Change Lead
Contract – 6 Months
Outside IR35
Hybrid – East Sussex
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Change Lead to join a large-scale transformation programme focused on delivering significant improvements across people, processes, and technology.
This is a critical role within a complex business environment where success will depend not just on deploying new systems, but on ensuring the organisation is ready to embrace and adopt new ways of working. You'll be responsible for driving the people side of change, helping stakeholders navigate transformation, build capability, and realise lasting business benefits.
We are looking for a highly credible change professional who can engage stakeholders at all levels, influence senior leaders, and embed sustainable behavioural and cultural change across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Change Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and deliver the overall business change strategy.
- Create and maintain change plans aligned to programme milestones.
- Identify change impacts, dependencies, risks, and adoption challenges.
- Ensure change activities are effectively integrated into programme delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships across business and programme teams.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and create engagement strategies.
- Influence and challenge stakeholders to support programme objectives.
- Secure commitment from operational teams, subject matter experts, and senior leaders.
Communications & Engagement
- Develop clear, engaging communications tailored to different audiences.
- Create compelling change narratives that build understanding and commitment.
- Deliver engagement initiatives that encourage participation and ownership.
- Translate complex programme information into meaningful business messages.

Change Readiness & Adoption
- Assess organisational readiness for change.
- Identify adoption risks and define mitigation strategies.
- Measure and report on business readiness and adoption.
- Support teams through transition to new processes, technologies, and ways of working.
Culture & Behavioural Change
- Drive cultural and behavioural change initiatives.
- Equip leaders to sponsor and champion change effectively.
- Address resistance and build momentum throughout the transformation journey.
- Ensure change is embedded and sustained beyond implementation.
Leadership & Governance
- Provide leadership and coaching to change resources within the programme.
- Produce high-quality reporting, insights, and recommendations.
- Support governance forums and programme decision-making.
- Ensure change activities are delivered in line with agreed objectives and timelines.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience leading business change within major transformation programmes.
- Proven track record of delivering successful people, process, and technology change.
- Experience operating in complex and highly regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives.
- Experience delivering change strategies, communications, and adoption plans.
- Demonstrable success in driving behavioural change and business adoption.
- Experience leading or mentoring Business Change Analysts or equivalent change professionals.

Desirable
- Experience within regulated sectors such as utilities, financial services, healthcare, government, or infrastructure.
- Prosci, APMG, Change Management Institute, or similar change management qualifications.
