Business Consultant - AECO Technical Advisory
Position Overview
Autodesk Consulting is looking for a Business Consultant to join our Northern Europe team. This remote role is based in the Netherlands and supports strategic customers across the region.
This is a senior individual contributor role combining business consulting, AECO industry expertise and executive advisory. You’ll work with some of Autodesk’s largest customers to shape transformation strategies, define target operating models, and develop business cases and roadmaps that deliver measurable business outcomes.
You’ll advise senior leaders, structure complex business challenges and lead strategic advisory engagements from discovery through executive decision-making. While you won’t configure or implement solutions, you’ll understand how Autodesk and complementary technologies fit within customers’ broader business and technology ecosystems, partnering with technical specialists to turn strategy into actionable delivery plans.
Main Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, business leaders and transformation teams, acting as a strategic advisor throughout the engagement
- Understand customer objectives, challenges and operating context to define outcome-driven transformation strategies
- Assess operating models, business processes, organizational capabilities, data and digital workflows to identify opportunities for improvement
- Define target-state operating models, transformation roadmaps, business cases, success measures and benefits realization plans
- Lead executive workshops, facilitate decision-making and align stakeholders across complex organizations
- Advise customers on how Autodesk and complementary AECO technologies support business outcomes through effective workflows, data management and interoperability
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for data, automation and AI based on business value, organizational readiness, governance and adoption
- Partner with Solution Architects, technical consultants and customer-facing teams to shape advisory engagements, validate strategic recommendations and develop credible delivery roadmaps

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
