Are you an experienced consultant who enjoys turning complex business and technology challenges into practical solutions that deliver meaningful results?

ADS Consulting delivers Business & Transformation and Technology Consulting services across government, defence and commercial clients. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Business Consulting Manager who can lead complex assignments, build trusted client relationships and help develop our consulting practice.

You’ll take responsibility for client outcomes, delivery quality and commercial performance while leading multidisciplinary teams. Working with senior stakeholders, you’ll use evidence-based insight and constructive challenge to shape decisions and support sustainable change. You’ll also identify new and follow-on opportunities, coach colleagues and contribute to the development of our consulting propositions, methods and reusable assets.

The role can be based across the Southwest corridor within reach of Bristol, Reading or London. Our consultants are typically expected to work on-site with clients or from an office at least three days per week. This approach offers flexibility while supporting close collaboration, strong client relationships and high-quality delivery.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading complex consulting assignments, projects and workstreams to deliver successful client outcomes.
  • Designing and implementing practical solutions to complex business and technology challenges.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and clear advice.
  • Managing delivery against agreed scope, quality, timescales, budgets and commercial objectives, taking corrective action where required.
  • Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies throughout delivery.
  • Supporting business growth through opportunity qualification, proposals and follow-on work, while coaching colleagues and developing consulting propositions and methods.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
