Are you someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, strategy and delivery, and wants to shape how organisations transform in complex, high‑assurance environments? Do you enjoy being hands‑on while also influencing senior stakeholders and guiding teams through change?

ADS Consulting is growing, and we are expanding the scope of our Business Consulting services. We provide Business & Transformation and Technology Consulting services directly to clients and in support of the wider Sopra Steria business. We have a strong track record of helping our clients exploit technology, and we are excited by the opportunity to build on this further.

As a Technical Advisory Consultant, you will combine deep technical and infrastructure expertise with consulting capability. This is a delivery‑focused role where you will advise clients on technology strategy and transformation, lead complex technical delivery, and engage confidently with senior client stakeholders. You will also contribute to business development activity and the ongoing growth of ADS Consulting.

We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs, and training and development opportunities.

This role follows a hybrid working model, with travel to client sites or Sopra Steria locations as required for delivery, collaboration, or key meetings.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing technical advisory and consultancy services, translating complex technical challenges into clear, business‑aligned objectives.
  • Leading the hands‑on delivery of complex infrastructure and enterprise IT solutions in Defence, Government and high‑assurance environments.
  • Engaging directly with senior client stakeholders, including C‑Level, to shape technology strategy, operating models and transformation outcomes.
  • Leading, mentoring and supporting technical delivery teams to ensure successful project execution and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Balancing delivery with governance, security, operational resilience and risk considerations.
  • Supporting business development through contributing to bids, proposals and the identification of new consulting opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
