About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst to join our client's dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in translating complex business requirements into effective data solutions within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data governance, quality, and reporting needs are met with precision. This position offers the flexibility of remote working, with occasional travel to client sites, and is ideal for professionals who possess a strong background in data analysis, GCP services, and data governance frameworks. The initial contract duration is eight months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Business Analysis within complex GCP data ecosystems. Proven hands-on expertise with GCP, particularly BigQuery and related data services, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of designing and implementing Data Governance and Master Data Management (MDM) frameworks. Strong skills in collecting and translating KPI and reporting requirements, as well as experience defining data quality rules and critical data elements, are necessary. Familiarity with dbt and data warehouse environments is highly desirable. Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences are crucial. Experience in customer analytics, B2B, B2C, retail, or sales data environments will be considered an advantage. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities
- Gather and translate business and reporting requirements into data governance and technical data specifications within a GCP data environment.
- Define, document, and map key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and critical data elements across reporting and operational processes.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, including sales and customer service teams, to understand data needs and reporting requirements.
- Map reporting requirements to source systems, data feeds, and data warehouse structures within GCP to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, establishing sustainable data operating models aligned with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives by defining data definitions, ownership, and lifecycle management processes.
- Define data quality rules and collaborate with GCP engineering teams to implement governance and quality controls using tools such as dbt.
- Assist in maintaining data catalogues, supporting finance processes, and mapping customer data across the wider GCP data platform.
- Act as an intermediary between end users and technical teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into scalable data solutions.
