The Role
As a Business and Data Analyst, you will lead and support analysis, design, and delivery activities for strategic data initiatives, with a particular focus on the Head Office Data Lake programme. This role requires strong business analysis skills, hands-on data analysis expertise (e.g., SQL, Python), and the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Front Office, Operations, Technology, and Head Office teams to:
- Analyse business requirements.
- Assess data quality.
- Define target-state processes.
- Develop reporting solutions.
This position offers exposure to high-impact regulatory, risk management, finance, and management information initiatives while helping establish robust data governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Solution Design
- Conduct detailed analysis of complex datasets using tools like SQL and Python.
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements against source data.
- Design solutions aligned with strategic architecture from process, system, and data perspectives.
- Prototype solutions where required.

Stakeholder & Project Management
- Engage with multiple stakeholders to elicit, challenge, negotiate, and agree on business/data requirements.
- Support project planning by working with Technology teams on cost/timeline estimates.
- Coordinate working groups/workshops as needed.
- Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare materials for steering/governance committees.
- Chair meetings and ensure alignment across teams on project objectives.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification; further professional certifications are advantageous.
- Proven experience in Financial Services change-related roles with a focus on Risk processes or systems implementation.
- Exposure to Credit Risk or Market Risk is beneficial but not essential.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis.
- Familiarity with third-party vendor systems (e.g., FIS Credit Risk Manager, Moody's Risk Frontier) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Understanding of Global Markets businesses/products or operations processes (e.g., collateral management) is desirable.
