As a Business Data Analyst
As a Business Data Analyst, you'll become a key member of Hallmark’s Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence, helping to transform the way we use data to support decision-making across the business. Working closely with key stakeholders across the business you'll deliver practical analytics, robust reporting and data-driven recommendations that help turn insight into action.
You'll play an important role in helping us uncover the story behind the data, joining the dots across multiple business functions and translating complex analysis into clear, decision-ready insight. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, combining business-critical reporting with analytical project work that supports performance improvement and drives meaningful change.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver insights through analytical reports, dashboards and project work, using data to answer business questions and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Support the Reporting & Analytics Manager and key stakeholders by providing data-led analysis that improves understanding of business drivers, trends and outcomes.
- Lead and support recurring market and customer analytics activity, including market analysis, product reviews and post-season performance reviews.
- Deliver analytical projects that support business decision-making, including sales performance analysis, missed opportunity reviews, target setting, stock allocation and product or range performance evaluations.
- Use analytical tools and technologies to improve reporting processes, reduce manual effort and increase the reliability and efficiency of recurring analysis.
- Partner with teams across Creative, Product, Commercial, Ecommerce, Supply and Finance to understand requirements, define scope and identify opportunities to generate greater value from data.
- Help maintain clear documentation, standards and processes to ensure analytics activity remains repeatable, reliable and scalable.
- Support wider Data & Analytics activity and provide cover for key reporting and analytical responsibilities when required.

Your Accountabilities
- Delivering accurate, relevant and well-documented analytical reports, dashboards and projects that support business decision-making.
- Translating data into clear recommendations, actionable insights and meaningful business intelligence.
- Identifying trends, risks, opportunities and key performance drivers, helping stakeholders understand the factors influencing business outcomes.
- Improving the efficiency, consistency and scalability of recurring analytical processes through effective use of reporting tools and documented ways of working.
- Ensuring stakeholders understand the scope, limitations and confidence levels of analytical outputs to support informed decision-making.
- Contributing to the delivery of business performance improvements through proactive identification of opportunities and data-led recommendations.
To Be Successful You Will Need
- Experience in an analytical role, either within a dedicated Data & Analytics function or a Commercial, Product, Insight or Merchandising environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand business questions and present insights in a clear and compelling way.
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools, ideally Tableau, including building, interpreting and explaining analytical outputs.
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets, validating outputs and presenting insights effectively.
- Strong PowerPoint and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex analysis into impactful recommendations.
- Adaptability and a solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to deliver insights at pace while understanding data quality and limitations.
- Curiosity and a passion for using data to solve business problems.
- A collaborative approach, with a willingness to support colleagues, share knowledge and contribute to team success.
- Experience of Snowflake, SQL, Alteryx or similar analytical tools would be advantageous.
- A desire to continuously develop your analytical and technical capabilities and help others gain value from data
