Data Business Analyst – Utilities – £450 pd Inside IR35 - Reading
Our utilities client is looking for an experienced Data Business Analyst to join them on an initial 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for a Business Analyst with a strong background in data-focused projects to support a key programme of work across the organisation.
The Data Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, define business needs and translate these into clear deliverables. You will take a lead on requirements gathering, business-facing user stories and process mapping, while using data to support analysis and inform decision-making.

You will be comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups, challenging requirements where appropriate and helping bridge the gap between business teams, data teams and technical delivery.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally within data or transformation programmes
- Strong experience of data-focused projects
- Excellent requirements gathering and process mapping skills
- Experience producing business-facing epics and user stories
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Good understanding of data, including the ability to interrogate and interpret datasets
- Experience within the utilities sector would be highly desirable
- SQL and/or Python skills would be desirable

Rate: £450 per day Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially
Location: Hybrid – Reading (3 days per week on site)
