Business Developer

On behalf of a fast-growing technology company specialising in digital innovation and advanced technology solutions, we are looking for an experienced Business Developer to join the commercial team in Manchester, with responsibility for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships and driving revenue growth across the UK market. The company operates at the intersection of technology, digital transformation and business innovation, delivering high-value solutions designed to help organisations improve efficiency, modernise processes and accelerate growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the company’s customer base and developing long-term commercial partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies in line with company growth objectives.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities across the UK market.
  • Build relationships with C-level executives, business owners, senior decision-makers and technology leaders.
  • Develop new accounts through structured prospecting, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Manage the full B2B sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification through to negotiation and closing.
  • Understand customer challenges and identify technology and innovation solutions aligned with their business needs.
  • Prepare commercial proposals and coordinate with technical teams during the sales process.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Manage and expand strategic customer relationships, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and competitor activity.
  • Attend industry conferences, technology events and customer meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and activity within the CRM.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, Technology and Customer Success teams to maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Report regularly on pipeline, revenue, conversion rates and key business development KPIs.

Profile

  • 4+ years of experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Account Management or Commercial roles.
  • Proven track record of new business acquisition and revenue generation.
  • Previous experience in technology, software, SaaS, digital transformation, IT services or innovation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling complex solutions to medium-sized and large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling.
  • Experience engaging with C-level executives and senior business decision-makers.
  • Excellent commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Highly proactive, entrepreneurial and results-driven approach.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems and modern sales tools.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Based in Manchester or willing to work from the Manchester area.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK for customer meetings and industry events.
