£48,987pa to £59,873pa (dependent on experience), plus a comprehensive benefits package.
LOCATION
Edinburgh.
HOURS
35 per week, full time.
WORKING PATTERN
Our work style is hybrid, with regular time in the Edinburgh hub and potential travel to adviser firms, industry events and internal customer sessions as required. About the Role
In this desk-based role, you'll build and deepen relationships with adviser firms that operate in the workplace pensions market, helping them understand and position the strength of the Scottish Widows workplace pension proposition with their employer clients. You'll support advisers across areas such as scheme review, new business opportunities, salary exchange, implementation planning, member engagement and ongoing service. You will develop and manage a panel of adviser relationships, work closely with the Business Development Managers, identify commercial opportunities and work with colleagues across Proposition, Operations, Implementation and Marketing to deliver a strong adviser and employer experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with corporate and wealth advisers operating in the workplace pensions market, including advisers who have not worked with us before.
- Identify, develop and convert new workplace pension opportunities across your adviser panel, supporting both new schemes and growth within existing relationships.
- Position Scottish Widows as a trusted workplace pension partner for advisers, helping them evidence value to employer clients beyond price alone.
- Support adviser conversations on scheme review, scheme design, salary exchange, implementation planning, member engagement and retirement outcomes.
- Use data, market insight and consultative skills to identify adviser opportunities, understand client needs and support commercially focused recommendations.
- Represent Scottish Widows in adviser meetings, seminars, conferences and industry events.
- Work closely with colleagues across Proposition, Operations, Implementation, Marketing and Service to improve adviser experience and deliver good customer outcomes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of workplace pension market developments, competitor propositions, adviser business models and regulatory expectations.
- Share insight from adviser and employer conversations to help shape proposition development, service improvements and future market positioning.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture by sharing best practice, supporting colleagues and actively looking for better ways of working.
- Continue to develop technical knowledge across workplace pensions, investments, salary exchange, governance and the wider adviser market.

About You
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience in a business development, relationship management, intermediary sales or adviser-facing role within workplace pensions, corporate benefits, wealth, pensions or investments.
- A strong understanding of the UK workplace pension market, including adviser distribution, employer decision-making and member engagement.
- Confidence working with adviser firms and senior internal customers with the ability to build trust, influence effectively and support long-term commercial relationships.
- Good technical knowledge of workplace pension propositions, including auto-enrolment, default investment, salary exchange, transfers, implementation and ongoing scheme servicing.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to use insight, data and market knowledge to find opportunities and support better adviser and employer outcomes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and tailor messages for adviser and employer audiences.
- High levels of motivation, resilience, curiosity and ownership, with a proactive approach to solving problems and improving ways of working.
- The ability to work independently across a regional panel while contributing positively to a wider national team.
- A commitment to professional development. Relevant pension qualifications would be desirable but are not essential for application.
