About Labelman

Labelman Ltd is a specialist UK supplier of barcode, labelling, Auto-ID and enterprise mobility solutions. We've been in the industry for many years and work with customers across manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, laboratories, retail, food production and a wide range of other sectors. Although labels are at the heart of our business, we do much more than simply supply labels. We help customers put together complete solutions using thermal printers, barcode scanners, mobile computers, software and custom-manufactured labels and consumables. We work closely with manufacturers including Zebra Technologies, Honeywell, Newland AIDC, Datalogic, Loftware and BarTender. We're a small business with a well-established customer base and we're now looking for an experienced salesperson to join our commercial team.

The Role

This is primarily a new business role, but you'll also be responsible for developing and looking after accounts that you win. We see the split as roughly 60% new business development and 40% account management.

You won't be starting from scratch.

We have a large database of existing and previous customers, as well as sales leads and opportunities that come to us through our manufacturer partners.

A key part of the role will be getting back in touch with customers who haven't bought from us for some time, understanding what they're doing now and identifying where we can help them.

You'll also work on new enquiries and manufacturer-generated leads and develop your own new business opportunities.

Once you've won an account, we want you to develop it. A customer buying printers, for example, may also need labels, ribbons, scanners, mobile computers or software.

Some opportunities will be relatively straightforward. Others may involve visiting a customer's site, understanding their operation and working with our suppliers and technical partners to put together a complete solution.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contacting previous and dormant Labelman customers and developing new opportunities.
  • Following up inbound enquiries and leads provided by our manufacturer partners.
  • Finding and developing your own new business opportunities.
  • Building relationships with customers and developing the accounts you win.
  • Identifying opportunities to cross-sell our wider range of hardware, software, labels and consumables.
  • Preparing quotations and following them through to a conclusion.
  • Calculating margins and making sensible commercial decisions around pricing.
  • Keeping accurate records of opportunities, quotations and customer activity in our CRM.
  • Maintaining a realistic sales pipeline and forecast.
  • Visiting customers where a face-to-face meeting or site survey will help move an opportunity forward.
  • Working directly with manufacturer account managers on customer opportunities, demonstrations, special pricing and deal registrations.
  • Attending occasional manufacturer training, partner events and meetings at our Storrington office.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can sell, but also someone who is commercially minded, organised and accurate.

You'll need previous B2B sales experience and should be comfortable both finding new business and developing existing accounts.

You'll also need to be happy picking up the phone and starting conversations. This isn't a role where opportunities will simply arrive in your inbox.

At the same time, we're not interested in measuring success simply by how many calls somebody makes. We're interested in finding genuine opportunities, developing relationships, winning profitable business and keeping customers.

You should have:

  • Previous B2B sales and account management experience.
  • A proven ability to generate new business.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of margin and gross profit.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The confidence to meet customers and discuss their requirements face-to-face.
  • Good organisational and CRM skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and remain productive when working from home.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Experience in labelling, printing, packaging, barcode/Auto-ID, enterprise mobility, hardware or software sales would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.

If you're a good B2B salesperson with the ability and willingness to learn the products, we'll provide the product and manufacturer training you need.

Working From Home

This is genuinely a home-based role, so we think it's important to be clear about what that means.

You'll have considerable freedom to manage your own working day, but we also need someone who is self-motivated and available during our normal working hours of 9:00am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You'll be part of a small team and will be in regular contact with colleagues, customers and suppliers throughout the day.

There will also be times when you'll need to travel to see customers, attend supplier meetings or training, or come to our office in Storrington.

What We Offer

  • Basic salary from £32,000, depending on experience.
  • Uncapped commission with a straightforward and transparent commission structure.
  • OTE £40,000+, with the ability to earn more for strong performance.
  • Home-based working.
  • An established customer and prospect database.
  • Leads and opportunities from our manufacturer partners.
  • The opportunity to work directly with some of the leading manufacturers in the Auto-ID industry.
  • A mixture of recurring consumable business and larger hardware, software and solution opportunities.
  • Pension scheme.
  • 20 days holiday allowance with an extra day for each year worked
  • Product and manufacturer training.
  • Direct access to the people running the business and the opportunity to have a real influence on its growth.

Who This Role Will Suit

This role will suit someone who likes the freedom of working from home but is disciplined enough to make that freedom work.

You'll enjoy finding opportunities rather than waiting for them, and you'll be prepared to keep following up when a customer doesn't respond first time.

You'll also understand that good account management is about more than taking orders. We want someone who is interested in what a customer does, spots opportunities and thinks about what else we could be supplying them.

We're a relatively small business, so there aren't layers of management or departments to hide behind. Everyone contributes, and attention to detail matters.

If you're commercially minded, enjoy building customer relationships and want a sales role where you can take ownership of an opportunity from the first conversation through to winning and developing the account, we'd like to hear from you.
