Business Development & Account Manager

Client Growth & Strategy

Garforth, Leeds · £40,000–£45,000 · Office-based · Permanent · Full-time

About Shot Blast Media

We're a specialist video and content agency working exclusively with manufacturing, engineering, construction, energy, and infrastructure businesses. We help our clients turn technical, often overlooked work into content that builds trust, wins tenders, and shortens sales cycles, built around our own Smart Content System®.

The Role

This is a senior, relationship-led role at the centre of how we grow client accounts. You'll lead discovery conversations with new and returning prospects, own the ongoing relationship with our client base, shape campaign strategy, and build the systems that turn good client work into long-term, growing partnerships through segmentation, health scoring, quarterly reviews, referrals, and reactivation.

This isn't a standard account management role or business development role. Almost everything you'll work on comes from inbound opportunities, warm introductions, existing clients, and referrals. Growth built on trust and genuine value, not hard selling. You'll be the person who turns interest into signed clients and signed clients into accounts that grow year on year.

You'll work closely with Lotty (founder/director), Lyza (brand, web, and marketing systems), David (Head of Production), and Byron (Video Production Manager).

What You'll Be Doing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Working closely with marketing to take warm, marketing-generated leads and convert them, leading discovery calls, understanding what prospects need, and guiding them to the right solution
  • Feeding insight back to marketing on what's converting and what attracts the right clients, so the two functions build on each other rather than working in isolation
  • Working closely with Byron, our Production Manager, on existing retainer client work, staying close enough to live projects to spot opportunities and deepen the relationship while work is in flight.
  • Owning the ongoing relationship with our client base, regular check-ins, planning calls, and reviews that keep clients feeling looked after, not just serviced.
  • Building the systems and processes that keep us talking to clients at the right moments, where we can add value and grow the relationship, not just check in
  • Shaping campaign and content strategy with clients, connecting their business goals to the right recommendation
  • Running quarterly and annual reviews with active clients, spotting where accounts are ready to grow
  • Building and running client segmentation, health scoring, referrals, and our reactivation programme for lapsed clients
  • Planning, hosting, and running our monthly exclusive client webinar content, logistics, follow-up, and improvement

Essential

You'll need:

  • Proven experience managing and growing client accounts through proactive, trust-led relationship management; this is the core of the role.
  • Genuine curiosity about manufacturing, engineering, or industrial businesses
  • Comfortable working in a small team where this role carries real weight. You're not one of many, you're a key part of how the agency grows, and it will require someone with ambition to shape the direction, building the strategy and systems for growth.

  • Familiar with CRM and project tools like Monday.com or similar
