Commercial New Business Executive – Insurance
Location: Twickenham, London
Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days from home
Type: Permanent, full-time
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Commercial New Business Executive to join a well-established and growing independent insurance brokerage based in Twickenham.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in commercial insurance account handling, broking or client servicing who is looking to take the next step into a more sales-focused role.
You don't need to have extensive experience. We’re looking for someone who understands the commercial insurance market, enjoys speaking with clients and has the ambition and personality to develop new business opportunities and build lasting relationships.
The role will focus across a range of commercial insurance lines, including Property Owners, Fleet/Motor, Professional Indemnity (PI) and Real Estate.
You’ll work closely with clients to understand their requirements, identify opportunities and help develop new business, whilst building your knowledge and commercial skills within a supportive and established brokerage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and generate new commercial insurance opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Identify opportunities across Property Owners, Fleet/Motor, PI and Real Estate lines
- Handle enquiries from initial conversation through to securing new business
- Use existing relationships and leads whilst also developing your own opportunities
- Understand client requirements and work with insurers and internal teams to find appropriate solutions
- Support the growth and development of a commercial client portfolio
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all activity is managed within a regulated environment
- Contribute to the wider commercial team's sales and growth objectives

About You
We’re looking for someone who is commercially driven, personable and confident speaking with clients. You may currently be working as an Account Handler, Account Executive, Broker or similar within commercial insurance and be looking for an opportunity to move further into new business and sales.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience within commercial insurance, ideally in an account handling, broking or client-facing capacity
- A genuine interest in developing a career within commercial insurance sales
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A confident and proactive approach to speaking with clients and prospects
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the insurance market
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The motivation to develop new business and contribute to growth
- The ability to work independently whilst also being part of a wider team

Previous experience in a dedicated new business role is desirable but not essential. The key requirement is a strong commercial mindset and the desire to develop within a sales-focused insurance position. CII qualifications or a willingness to work towards them would be advantageous.
