Blue Legal is partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a Business Development & Alumni Manager to join its Marketing and Business Development team. This newly created role will combine ownership of the firm's alumni programme with strategic business development support across a portfolio of practice groups, helping to strengthen relationships, identify growth opportunities and drive wider commercial initiatives.
The Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the firm's alumni strategy, strengthening engagement with former employees and identifying opportunities for referrals, introductions, advocacy and recruitment.
- Manage alumni data, segmentation and reporting, identifying priority relationships and measuring the effectiveness of the programme.
- Plan and deliver alumni communications, events and engagement initiatives to build and maintain strong relationships across the firm's network.
- Act as the lead business development contact for a portfolio of practice groups, coordinating activity across pitches, directories, client targeting, events and thought leadership.
- Work closely with partners and senior stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and ensure practice groups are effectively connected to firm-wide business development initiatives and campaigns.
- Identify and facilitate cross-selling and collaboration opportunities across the firm, sharing successful approaches and commercial opportunities between practice areas.
- Track progress against agreed business development objectives, providing insights and recommendations to support future strategy and improve commercial outcomes.

The Candidate:

- A minimum of five years' business development experience within a legal or professional services environment, with strong commercial awareness and experience working with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, organisational and project management skills, with the confidence to take ownership of strategic initiatives and drive them through to delivery.
- Previous experience with alumni, membership, network or community programmes would be advantageous, although direct alumni experience is not essential.
