Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours per week)

Location: Liverpool or Manchester. Expectation of 3 days per week in an office
Role Overview
This is a full mix role, providing proactive business development and marketing support to the Marine Trade & Energy business group (MBG).
You will work closely with the MBG Business Partners and MBG fee earners as well as drawing on specialist skills from within the Business Development and Marketing (BD&M) team and other parts of the firm, co-ordinating these individuals so the fee earners receive a single point of liaison and a ‘joined up’ service and delivery.
You will will report to the MBG BD&M Business Partner and have an important role in supporting the delivery of business development and marketing activity to a growing part of the business, You will be required to support fee earners in our UK and international offices. The work is fast paced and varied and brings an excellent opportunity to continue to learn and apply your marketing and relationship skills.
Marine Trade & Energy is a full-service international practice with more than 270 dedicated lawyers. We offer the full spectrum of expertise across shipping, commodities, superyachts and insurer matters.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
- Assisting the MBG Business Partner with drafting, developing, and implementing marketing plans.
- Facilitate the execution of plans through communicating with and effectively briefing activity to the wider BD&M team.
- Acting as a key point of contact on day-to-day marketing between the wider BD&M team and the fee earners, providing a joined-up service and delivery.

Day-to-day Marketing
- Co-ordinate smooth delivery of the agreed MBG marketing activity calendar including events, sponsorships, awards, and articles briefing the wider BD&M team and liaising with fee earners as appropriate.
- Ensure website, intranet and other MBG marketing collateral are up to date and fit for purpose.
- Build relationships with external bodies, such as conference organisers.
- Working as part of a team to coordinate the Legal directory submissions.
- Support MBG on cross-Business Group marketing and BD initiatives.
Reporting and MI
- Support MBG Business Partner to prepare and issue a monthly MI pack to the MBG senior management team.
- Working with the MBG FEs and other BPs to manage a consistent structured approach to the measurement and reporting on results and ROI outcomes for marketing activities, and overseas trips
- Ongoing reporting on progress against plans, communicating effectively and regularly with key stakeholders to manage expectations and gain input as appropriate to ensure progress
New Business and Client Development
- Work with CRM team, MBG Business Partner and MBG fee earners to cleanse and maintain client and non-client data and marketing lists, facilitating the process between MBG and BD&M
Campaigns and Project Management
- Work closely with Marcomms, MBG Business Partner to provide assistance on marketing projects and campaigns as required.
What Are We Looking For
- Experience in a similar marketing role, within legal services or another professional services firm
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Effective communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Positive, proactive and can-do attitude and approach
- Flexibility in approach and a willingness to work outside normal office hours, if required and to travel to the various UK offices on an agreed regular basis
