Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week
Location: home based with travel to services and external meetings
Reporting to: Director of Business Development and Marketing - Specialist Services (functional reporting to the Finance director for contract, costing and billing data)

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and organised Business Development and Referrals Executive to support the continued growth of our specialist services.
The role will provide a central point of coordination for new enquiries, helping commissioners, case managers, families and other referrers navigate our services and identify the most appropriate pathway. You will manage enquiries from initial contact through assessment, fee proposal, contract coordination and admission, working closely with operational, clinical and finance colleagues throughout the process.
Alongside managing inbound enquiries, you will support proactive business development activity across a defined region of the Care Concern Group Specialist Services portfolio. This will include building relationships with commissioners, case managers, brokerage teams and other referral partners, identifying new opportunities and maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders.
This is a varied role requiring good commercial judgement, excellent communication and the ability to coordinate several enquiries and priorities at the same time.

Care Concern Group’s specialist services support adults with a range of neurological, physical and mental health needs.
Across the wider specialist services portfolio, we provide a range of pathways designed around people’s individual clinical, therapeutic and support needs.
Key Responsibilities
Enquiry and Referral Management
- Act as a central point of contact for new enquiries from commissioners, integrated care boards, local authorities, case managers, solicitors, clinicians, families and other referral partners.
- Follow up enquiries that have not progressed and record the reason and next action.
Finance and Contract Coordination
- Prepare costings using the cost model provided by the Finance team. Ensure inputs (dependency, staffing, pathway, therapy input, equipment and consumables reflect the assessed care package and are agreed with clinical and operational colleagues. Obtain approval for any discounts or adjustments to the cost model.
- Ensure a signed contract or funding agreement is in place before admission. Where admission is proposed without confirmed funding in writing, obtain approval from the Finance Director in advance.
- Maintain a forward view of contract expiry, renewal and care review dates and initiate action with operational, clinical and finance colleague so that no placement is left on an expired on unsigned agreement.
Business Development
- Build and maintain productive relationships with commissioners, case managers, discharge teams, clinicians, solicitors and other referral partners.
- Undertake planned outbound activity to raise awareness of our services, pathways, availability and clinical expertise.
- Work with the marketing team to support targeted campaigns, service communications, events and referral materials.

CRM, Reporting and Pipeline Management
- Maintain complete and accurate enquiry, contact and referral information within the CRM.
- Produce regular commercial reports, such as referrals, assessments, admissions, conversion rates.
About You
You will be a confident communicator with experience in business development, referrals, account management or commercial coordination. You will understand that decisions about specialist care can involve several people, detailed clinical information and complex funding arrangements.
You will be comfortable taking ownership of an enquiry while working collaboratively with clinical, operational and finance colleagues.
Essential Experience And Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to interpret pipeline data and produce clear management information.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within specialist health or social care, neurological rehabilitation, complex care, mental health or a related sector.
