Business Development Assistant | Birmingham | £26,226 | Hybrid
Want to start your career in Business Development with one of the most respected names in UK law?
I am working with a leading law firm whose roots stretch back to 1841. Recognised as industry leaders and consistently ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK, they advise clients nationally and internationally across litigation, banking, corporate, construction, employment, housing and real estate. This is a firm built on the quality of its people, and they are growing.
Here is what makes this one special. This is a brand new role, created to drive Business Development across their Birmingham office, with the full backing of an established BD and Marketing team in London. You will not be slotting into someone else's shoes. You will be helping to shape how BD works in Birmingham from day one.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
