About the role
The Business Development Associate will be responsible for engaging businesses operating car and van fleets, identifying opportunities where Lightfoot’s technology delivers clear value, and securing meetings that lead to product demonstrations and sales. Working as an integral part of our ambitious sales team, the role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt messaging to a diverse customer base, and a highly organised approach to managing prospects.
Success will be measured by the ability to generate high-quality leads, build strong initial relationships, and contribute directly to the team’s growth targets. This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in expanding Lightfoot’s market presence and accelerating adoption of our technology.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
Location: Remote or hybrid working available from our Exeter, Devon office
Key Responsibilities
- Generate high-quality leads and book qualified meetings to demonstrate Lightfoot’s technology that directly contribute to sales growth
- Hit activity targets and KPIs with a focus on consistently achieving “Meetings Booked & Attended” goals
- Make sure every interaction is professional, positive, and leaves prospects with a great impression of Lightfoot
- Keep Salesforce fully updated with all calls, emails, and meeting outcomes so the team always has accurate information
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to answer questions and ensure prospects clearly understand our product and service
- Share useful feedback and themes from conversations to help improve team performance and prospect engagement
- Provide weekly updates on your activity and results to support team progress and celebrate successes
- Look for small ways to make processes smoother and conversations more engaging, keeping the role fast-paced and exciting

What we are looking for
- Ambitious, results-driven, and self-motivated with a proactive, “hunter” mentality
- Confident communicator with excellent telephone manner and the ability to adapt style to different audiences
- Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in cold calling or lead generation is an advantage, with proven resilience and drive to hit targets
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Personable, outgoing, and adaptable, with enthusiasm for digital products such as mobile apps and web portals
