Business Development Associate - Debt Recovery, Litigation & Enforcement

Location: Runcorn / Office Based - Client Facing

Salary: £35,000 per annum with competitive commission structure realistic OTE of £56,000.00

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About DCBL & DCB Legal

We are part of the Direct Group, one of the UK's leading providers of debt recovery, legal and enforcement services. Through DCBL and DCB Legal, we offer businesses an end-to-end solution across pre-court recovery, litigation and enforcement.

We're looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across DCBL and DCB Legal, building relationships with decision-makers and winning new business.

The Role

This is a target-driven, revenue-focused role responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across DCBL and DCB Legal.

You'll proactively identify prospective clients, engage key decision-makers, understand their challenges and show how our debt recovery, litigation and enforcement services can help.

The role combines new business development, relationship management, telephone sales, digital prospecting and client meetings across a wide range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate, manage and convert a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across DCBL and DCB Legal
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers, including Finance Directors, Credit Controllers, Business Owners and senior management
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone, email and other appropriate channels and recommend most appropriate service for them
  • Manage inbound enquiries and convert opportunities into new business
  • Arrange and conduct face-to-face, Teams and Zoom meetings with prospective and existing clients
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients to create long-term partnerships
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services across DCBL and DCB Legal
  • Use platforms including Creditsafe, Companies House and other business intelligence tools to identify prospective clients and research businesses
  • Follow up new business opportunities promptly and consistently
  • Work towards and exceed agreed lead generation, conversion and revenue targets
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all opportunities and client interactions within the CRM
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process and excellent client experience
  • Keep up to date with our services and developments across DCBL and DCB Legal

What We're Looking For

Someone who is commercially minded, confident picking up the phone, comfortable speaking to senior decision-makers and motivated by winning new business.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in B2B business development or sales
  • A strong track record of generating and converting new business
  • Experience working to sales targets and KPIs
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • A strong telephone manner
  • Excellent organisation and pipeline management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales process
  • A proactive and tenacious approach to sales
  • A genuine desire to succeed and earn based on performance
  • Strong IT skills and experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
