About Double A Display
Double A Display is a growing, family-run exhibition design, manufacturing, and installation company based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. We work with businesses of all sizes, from independent companies and ambitious start-ups to established blue-chip brands, delivering everything from bespoke exhibition stands and brand activations to retail displays, shop fitting, signage, and experiential projects.
We are a young and ambitious business with big plans for the future, and we are looking for the right person to join us at an exciting stage of our growth. This isn't a traditional sales role. We are looking for someone who can help us grow the business as a whole – someone who understands that great business development isn't simply about making sales, but about building relationships, strengthening our brand, understanding our clients, and creating opportunities that develop over the long term.
The Role
As our Business Development & Client Relations Executive, you will play a key role in helping Double A Display grow. You will take ownership of a broad range of business development, marketing, and client relationship activities, working closely with the Director and wider team to identify opportunities, strengthen existing relationships, and introduce Double A Display to new businesses and markets. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, commercially minded, and confident speaking to people.
Someone who enjoys picking up the phone, starting conversations, attending events, sending a well-timed email or LinkedIn message, and, most importantly, building genuine relationships that last. You won't be measured purely on how much you sell. Your success will be judged on the overall contribution you make to the growth and development of Double A Display.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and research potential new clients, sectors, and markets.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers across marketing, events, procurement, and senior management.
- Proactively introduce Double A Display to relevant businesses and organizations.
- Generate new opportunities through a mixture of networking, LinkedIn, email, telephone outreach, referrals, and industry events.
- Research upcoming exhibitions, events, campaigns, and projects where Double A Display could add value.
- Maintain and develop a structured prospect and client database.
- Follow up enquiries and opportunities professionally and consistently.
- Work closely with the directors to develop opportunities from initial conversation through to quotation and project delivery.
- Identify opportunities within existing and previous client relationships.
- Help develop strategic partnerships and referral opportunities.
Client Relationships
- Building meaningful, long-term relationships will be a major part of this role.
- Regularly communicate with existing clients to understand their upcoming plans and requirements.
- Maintain relationships with previous clients and ensure Double A Display remains front of mind.
- Develop a strong understanding of our clients' businesses, brands, and objectives.
- Proactively identify ways we can support clients beyond their immediate requirements.
- Follow up with clients after projects to gather feedback and identify future opportunities.
- Help create a consistent and professional client experience from first contact through to project completion.
- Build relationships based on trust rather than simply trying to make a sale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience
Previous experience in business development, marketing, account management, client relations, sales, or a similar commercial role would be beneficial. Experience within the exhibition, events, marketing, print, retail, construction, shop fitting, or creative industries would be advantageous but is not essential. Most importantly, we're looking for the right person and attitude. If you are commercially minded, personable, ambitious, and good with people, we are more interested in what you can bring to the role than whether your previous job title says "Business Development Executive".
How Success Will Be Measured
This is deliberately not a commission-led sales position. We want to encourage long-term thinking rather than simply rewarding short-term sales. Performance will therefore be assessed across the wider role, including:
- Quality and development of client relationships.
- New relationships and opportunities created.
- Client retention and engagement.
- Marketing activity and brand development.
- Quality of the company's prospect database and pipeline.
- New markets and sectors identified.
- Networking and industry engagement.
- Contribution to business development strategy.
- Initiative and ideas brought to the business.
- Organisation and follow-through.
- Overall contribution to the growth and development of Double A Display.
What We Offer
- £28,000-£30,000 annual salary
- Annual performance-related bonus
- Company laptop
- Hybrid working, with a minimum of 4 days per week based in our Brighouse office
- Standard company holiday allowance
- An additional day's holiday for every completed year of service (capped at 5 additional days)
- Two paid charity days per year
- Company pension contribution
- The opportunity to play a significant role in the growth of an ambitious, family-run business
- A varied role where no two days are necessarily the same
- The opportunity to develop your responsibilities as Double A Display grows
Why Join Double A Display?
We're not interested in building a business based purely on transactions. We want to build a business based on people, relationships, reputation, and doing a great job. Our clients trust us to deliver important projects for their businesses, and we want to build relationships that last well beyond a single exhibition stand.
You'll be joining us at a stage where you can genuinely make a difference. There isn't a huge corporate hierarchy or ten layers of management between you and the decision-makers. If you have an idea, we want to hear it. If you see something that could be done better, we want you to tell us. If you spot an opportunity, we want you to pursue it. You'll have the opportunity to help shape how Double A Display develops its marketing, client relationships, and business development strategy as we continue to grow. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us – not simply work for us.
