Capture House | Sales • Business Development • Client Growth
Capture House is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development Consultant to play a key role in the next stage of our growth.
This is much more than a traditional sales role. You’ll be responsible for creating new business opportunities, developing relationships with prospective clients and growing existing accounts. You’ll work closely with our creative and production team to understand what clients are trying to achieve and turn those conversations into exciting, commercially successful projects.
We’re a small, ambitious agency, so you’ll have genuine influence. You won’t be handed a rigid script or asked to simply work through a call list. We want someone who can spot opportunities, start conversations, build relationships and help shape how we grow.
What you will be Doing
Understanding clients and closing opportunities
We want someone who can sell through conversation rather than simply pitching services. You’ll meet prospective clients, understand their business, challenges and objectives, and work with the wider Capture House team to recommend the right creative solution. You’ll:
- Lead discovery conversations with prospective clients
- Understand budgets, objectives, timescales and decision-making processes
- Develop compelling proposals and quotations
- Present and pitch ideas confidently
- Handle objections and commercial negotiations
- Follow opportunities through to close
- Ensure what we promise commercially can be delivered brilliantly by the production team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Growing client relationships
Winning the first project is only the beginning. You’ll develop relationships with existing and previous clients, looking for opportunities to increase repeat business and become a trusted partner rather than simply a supplier. This includes:
- Regular client contact and relationship building
- Identifying additional opportunities within existing accounts
- Re-engaging previous clients
- Asking for referrals and introductions
- Working closely with the production team to ensure a smooth handover from sale to delivery
Owning your numbers
You’ll take responsibility for your pipeline and sales activity, keeping our CRM accurate and providing clear visibility of opportunities, forecasts and results. You’ll also bring insight back into the business about what clients are asking for, what’s happening in the market and where Capture House could develop new opportunities.
Who we're looking for
You don’t necessarily need to come from exactly the same industry. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right commercial instinct, energy and ability to build relationships.
You’re likely to be someone who:
- Has at least 2 years' experience in business development, sales or account management
- Has a track record of developing relationships and converting opportunities
- Is confident approaching new people and businesses
- Can communicate comfortably with everyone from marketing teams to senior decision-makers
- Asks great questions and listens before trying to sell
- Is commercially aware and confident discussing budgets and value
- Can write engaging emails, proposals and pitches
- Is organised and comfortable managing a sales pipeline and CRM
- Enjoys autonomy and taking ownership
- Is proactive, resilient and comfortable working in a growing business
- Has the confidence to bring ideas to the table rather than waiting to be told what to do
