RMK Talent Solutions is currently recruiting for a Business Development Consultant to join our investment manager's sales team covering the South of England (base Birmingham & south is ideal). This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in IFA sales, particularly those with experience in outsourced investment solutions. The successful candidate will play a vital part in expanding the company’s reach by developing new business and fostering strong relationships with intermediaries.

We are seeking a proactive, results-oriented individual who is eager to transition from a telephone sales environment into a field-based role or someone already experienced as a hybrid Business Development Manager (BDM). This client values expertise, initiative, and a professional approach to building lasting partnerships in the investment and financial advisory space.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the intermediary and IFA sectors.
  • Engage with intermediaries via telephone and field visits to promote investment solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with financial advisers and other key stakeholders.
  • Present and explain outsourced investment products effectively, aiming to meet client needs.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to the growth of the company's client base.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client journey and high levels of service delivery.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the investment landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IFA sales, with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Knowledge of outsourced investment solutions and the intermediary market.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently within a supportive team environment.
  • Previous experience of telephone sales is highly desirable, along with a desire to expand into field-based sales.
  • Professional approach with a solid understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
