Business Development Consultant – Luxury Interiors & Architecture
Contract / Fractional | Approx. 1 day per week | London / South East
Slab is a specialist natural stone and porcelain business, supplying, fabricating and installing bespoke stonework for high-end residential, hospitality and interior projects.
We are looking for an experienced, well-connected Business Development Consultant to help us develop relationships and opportunities within the high-end interior design and architectural sectors.
This is not a cold lead-generation role. We already have the capability to identify practices, research projects and undertake LinkedIn and email outreach internally. We are specifically looking for someone who already knows the market, understands how leading interior design and architectural practices procure and specify, and has an established network of relevant industry contacts.
The successful person will be expected to bring relationships, market intelligence and access to opportunities that cannot simply be found through LinkedIn or Google.
The Role
Working approximately one day per week, you will:
- Introduce Slab to established contacts within leading interior design, architecture, development, procurement and related practices.
- Identify relevant live and forthcoming projects where natural stone, porcelain or bespoke fabrication is being specified.
- Generate introductions, studio presentations, tender opportunities and genuine project enquiries.
- Develop relationships with key practices where there is potential for repeat project work.
- Provide market intelligence around projects, specifications and decision-makers.
- Hand qualified opportunities to Slab's owner for technical development, specification, pricing and commercial close.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will not be expected to undertake technical selling or close complex stone packages. The role is about creating access and opportunities; technical and commercial discussions will be handled directly at senior level by Slab.
Who We're Looking For
You are likely to have worked in business development, specification or key accounts within the premium interiors sector, perhaps in:
- Natural stone / architectural surfaces / bathrooms / kitchens / flooring / lighting / bespoke furniture / architectural finishes / FF&E or a closely related field.
Most importantly, you should already have active relationships with high-end interior designers, architects, developers, procurement practices and/or hospitality designers.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Please do not apply if your proposed approach would primarily involve researching prospective companies online, building LinkedIn lists or cold outreach. We already undertake this activity internally.
We are looking for someone who can credibly say:
"I know this market, I know who we should be speaking to, and I can get Slab into those conversations."
Contract
Initially a three-month fractional contract, approximately one day per week.
Indicative rate: £350–£450 per day depending on experience and network, with additional performance-related remuneration for business originated through the role.
There is scope to expand the relationship if the initial period demonstrates a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities.
Applying
Please send a short introduction covering your relevant industry background.
Rather than a conventional covering letter, we'd particularly like to know:
- Which types of high-end interior design, architectural or related practices do you already have established relationships with, and how would those relationships translate into opportunities for Slab?
Specific experience and genuine industry relationships will carry considerably more weight than general sales or business-development experience.
