Role Overview
- The role focuses on building trusted relationships with intermediaries and employer clients, developing tailored IPMI programme solutions for internationally mobile and globally minded workforces, and delivering sustainable new business growth while positioning Bupa Global as a partner of choice in employee benefits.
How you’ll help us make health happen
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new employer-sponsored IPMI programme opportunities through brokers, and direct channel to achieve agreed new business targets.
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle, including prospecting, needs discovery, solution design, proposal and tender coordination, negotiation, implementation handover, and post-sale relationship development.
- Develop tailored IPMI programme propositions that address employer objectives, workforce demographics, geographic coverage, benefit design, cost sustainability, and employee experience.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline across target employer segments, with clear account plans, stakeholder maps, opportunity strategies, and accurate probability-weighted forecasts.
- Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships brokers, employer decision-makers, and senior stakeholders within strategically important accounts.
- Develop a strong understanding of each employer’s workforce profile, mobility needs, benefits strategy, procurement process, renewal cycle, and decision-making criteria.
- Take a consultative approach, translating employer needs into compelling programme solutions and clearly articulating Bupa Global’s clinical, service, network, digital, and international coverage value.
- Lead or coordinate high-quality responses to requests for information, requests for proposal, market reviews, and tender exercises, ensuring submissions are accurate, commercially compelling, and delivered on time.
- Prepare and deliver tailored pitches, finalist presentations, programme briefings, and training for consultants, brokers, and employer stakeholders.
- Ensure programme requirements, eligibility rules, benefit structures, underwriting assumptions, contractual terms, service commitments, and implementation dependencies are clearly documented and agreed.

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:
- Proven business development or consulting experience in employee benefits, group medical insurance, IPMI, or a closely related corporate insurance market.
- Demonstrated track record of winning employer-sponsored schemes and delivering against new business, premium, pipeline, and conversion targets.
- Experience working with employee benefits consultants, insurance brokers, HR and Reward teams, procurement stakeholders, and senior employer decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of the Hong Kong employee benefits and insurance market, with knowledge of international workforce, mobility, and cross-border healthcare needs.
- Solid understanding of relevant Hong Kong legal, regulatory, conduct, and data privacy requirements, including applicable HKIA requirements.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder navigation skills, with the ability to build credibility with brokers, HR, Reward, procurement, and employer stakeholders.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to interpret workforce needs, assess opportunity value, and balance client requirements with pricing, risk, and operational considerations.
- Highly consultative and solution-oriented, with strong discovery, proposition development, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and tender-writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex programme information for different audiences.
