JOB DESCRIPTION: Business Development & Digital Marketing Manager

Location: UK-based (Hybrid Working / Part Office-Based – Flexible Work Options)

Company: The Virtual Tour Experts

Salary: Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus or commission

About Us

The Virtual Tour Experts is a fast-growing digital media and immersive technology company, helping businesses showcase spaces through cutting-edge virtual tours and visual experiences. Join at an exciting stage of growth and the chance to be a part of our story.

As the world’s first B Corp virtual tour agency, we are deeply committed to using business as a force for good. We operate with a strong ethos of responsibility, sustainability, and positive impact. Alongside our commercial work, we are proud to be actively contributing to the accessibility sector, ensuring digital experiences are inclusive and available to all.

Our portfolio includes work with major national organisations in tourism, transportation and education, including the University of Cambridge. Our work has received industry recognition, and we are creators of globally recognised projects such as the award-winning Svalbard Global Seed Vault virtual tour. We continue to collaborate with leading organisations and national accessibility bodies, ensuring our solutions are shaped by real user needs and deliver meaningful, measurable impact.

As a small, highly skilled and collaborative team, we combine deep technical expertise with a strong sense of purpose. We are now seeking an exceptional Business Development & Marketing Manager to lead the company into its next phase of growth while upholding and advancing our mission-driven values.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded Business Development & Marketing Manager who can take ownership of our sales pipeline while also supporting wider marketing activity. Sales will be the primary focus of the role.

We need someone who is comfortable identifying opportunities, reaching out to potential clients, nurturing relationships, following up leads and helping turn conversations into new business.

However, because we are a small and agile team, this isn’t a narrow sales role. At different times you may move between sales, marketing, campaigns, content, research, CRM management and general commercial support.

We are looking for someone proactive who sees something that needs doing and gets on with it.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Take ownership of day-to-day business development and help build a consistent flow of qualified sales opportunities.
  • Identify and research prospective clients and key decision-makers within our defined target sectors.
  • Conduct proactive outreach through email, LinkedIn, telephone and other relevant channels.
  • Follow up inbound enquiries and existing leads quickly and consistently.
  • Develop relationships with prospects from initial contact through to proposal and sale.
  • Arrange and participate in virtual tour demonstrations and sales meetings.
  • Work with the wider team to develop proposals, pitches and sales materials.
  • Re-engage previous prospects and dormant opportunities.
  • Help identify new sectors, partnerships and commercial opportunities.
  • Support account development and opportunities within existing clients.
  • Attend networking events and client meetings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

HubSpot & Pipeline Management

  • Manage our sales pipeline within HubSpot, ensuring leads, contacts, companies, opportunities and follow-ups are properly recorded.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM data.
  • Create tasks, follow-up sequences and processes to ensure opportunities do not go cold.
  • Track activity, conversion rates and pipeline value.
  • Help improve the way we use HubSpot to manage our sales process and marketing activity.
  • Provide clear visibility to the team on sales activity, opportunities and next steps. Previous HubSpot experience is highly desirable.

Marketing

Alongside sales, you will support our ongoing marketing activity, including:

  • Developing targeted campaigns for priority sectors.
  • Email marketing and lead-nurture campaigns.
  • Support LinkedIn and help direct social media activity.
  • Creating and repurposing case studies, sales collateral and marketing content.
  • Helping showcase our portfolio, client successes and awards.
  • Supporting website content and landing pages.
  • Working with the team on digital campaigns and other lead-generation activities where appropriate.
  • Tracking campaign performance and identifying which activities are actually generating enquiries and sales.
  • Helping ensure our sales and marketing activity works together rather than operating separately.

Who We’re Looking For

The right person is likely to be someone who has worked in a small or growing B2B business, digital agency, technology company, SaaS business or similar environment. You do not need to come from the virtual tour industry.

More important to us is that you are commercially minded, confident communicating with senior decision-makers and comfortable moving between different responsibilities.

You should be:

  • Naturally proactive and motivated by generating new business.
  • Comfortable with outbound sales and approaching organisations that do not already know us.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Confident building relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Highly organised and persistent with follow-up.
  • Comfortable managing multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.
  • Able to understand a relatively sophisticated digital product and communicate its commercial value simply.
  • Comfortable working independently within a small remote team.
  • Willing to move between sales and marketing depending on where the business needs support.
  • Curious, creative and happy to test new ideas.
  • Results-focused without being overly corporate or process-driven.

Experience We’d Love to See

Ideally you will have:

  • At least 3 years' experience in B2B sales, business development, marketing or a combined commercial role.
  • Experience generating your own leads rather than relying entirely on inbound enquiries.
  • Experience using a CRM to manage sales opportunities.
  • Experience with HubSpot is highly desirable.
  • Experience with LinkedIn prospecting, email outreach and lead generation.
  • An understanding of digital marketing and how marketing activity supports the sales pipeline.
  • Strong writing/communication efficiency and presentation skills.
  • Confidence using data and reporting to understand what is and isn’t working.
  • Experience managing PPC campaigns and website performance to drive leads is a bonus but not essential.

Experience selling digital services, technology, SaaS, creative services, education solutions, hospitality technology, travel products or other consultative B2B services would be particularly relevant.

What Matters More Than Your CV

We are less concerned about specific qualifications than we are about finding the right person. We want someone with energy, commercial instinct and a genuine desire to help grow a business.

You might currently be a Business Development Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, Account Manager, Agency Business Development Manager, Growth Manager or Commercial Manager. What matters is that you are willing to be hands-on.

One day you might be speaking to a university or hotel about a new virtual tour. The next you might be building a prospect list in HubSpot, developing an email campaign, helping with a LinkedIn post or following up an opportunity that has gone quiet.

That variety is an important part of the role.

Our Culture

We are a small team with an exciting future ahead.

Our core values include:

  • Honesty, integrity and professionalism
  • Creativity
  • Expertise and enthusiasm for technology
  • Social responsibility
  • Attention to detail
  • Pride in our work
  • Flexible working options

We work collaboratively, move quickly and give people the freedom to take ownership of their work.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a business with an established portfolio, impressive clients, award-winning work and significant opportunities for growth.

Rather than stepping into a rigid corporate sales structure, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape how we sell, which markets we pursue and how our sales and marketing function develops.

If you enjoy winning new business but also want the variety and influence that comes with working in a small entrepreneurial team, we’d love to hear from you.
