We are LWM Traded Services, a company wholly owned by Lichfield District Council. We are ambitious, innovative, and commercially driven, with a growing portfolio of businesses and services. Our purpose is a little different too. As a wholly owned company of Lichfield District Council, our profits are reinvested into vital local public services.

The Role

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Director to help take LWM to its next stage of growth.

We are looking for someone who can take a broad, organisation-wide approach to business development, identifying opportunities across our different service areas and bringing the right people together to create and win new business.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Open doors and build senior-level relationships
  • Identify new markets and commercial opportunities
  • Develop strategic partnerships
  • Build and convert a strong sales pipeline
  • Develop new services and routes to market
  • Turn conversations into long-term commercial relationships
  • Bring the right people together to win new business

You'll work across LWM's full range of services, so we're looking for someone who can see the bigger picture rather than being focused on one particular sector or specialism. You don't need to be a technical expert. Our specialist teams have that covered.

Your role is to create the opportunity, understand the client's needs, and bring the right people together to deliver.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
