About The Role
The Business Development Director at BMSL Group Ltd plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic growth trajectory across the UK. This senior leadership position requires a highly motivated and commercially astute individual who can leverage industry relationships and market insights to drive revenue expansion and market penetration. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company's long-term objectives. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and establishing strategic partnerships within key sectors such as power, renewables, industrial manufacturing, and infrastructure. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. A full UK Driving Licence is essential to facilitate regional travel and client engagement across the UK. Candidates with an existing network within the power, renewables, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, or process sectors will be highly regarded. Experience working within engineering contracting, E&I specialist companies, EPC contractors, or engineering consultancies is advantageous. Knowledge of engineering, construction, commissioning, or maintenance services will support effective client engagement and project understanding. Additionally, familiarity with developing strategic partnerships and framework agreements will be beneficial in driving the company's growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans that align with the company’s growth targets and market expansion goals.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across sectors including power, renewables, industrial, infrastructure, and process industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end clients, EPC contractors, principal contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners to foster long-term collaborations.
- Drive growth within existing key accounts while proactively seeking new revenue streams and market segments.
- Support major bid submissions, framework agreements, and strategic pursuit opportunities to ensure competitive positioning.
- Lead commercial negotiations, support contract development, and ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with technical, operational, and marketing teams to develop compelling client solutions and enhance brand positioning.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to promote services and expand the company's presence.
- Achieve and exceed growth, revenue, and business development targets set by senior management.
