Business Development Director

Richmond, London

Expected year 1 OTE ~ £120,000
Defined path to Sales Director South within 12 months

There’s a real buzz to winning a client you know you can help. You get beneath the brief, spot what’s holding their growth back and turn a first conversation into a partnership. If that’s the part of your work you love most, we’d like to meet you.

At Furza, we help growing businesses and those backed by private equity build sales teams that perform. Our Academy, Talent, Training and Advisory services give you more than one way to solve a client’s challenge, whether they need new talent, stronger skills or a clearer commercial strategy.

We’re growing our own commercial team, and you’ll play a big part in what it becomes. You’ll win business, grow client relationships and coach two Business Development Managers or Executives. You’ll work directly with the Group Sales Director and have the opportunity to shape how Furza grows across the South.

What you’ll do

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Start conversations with founders, CEOs and commercial leaders, find out what their businesses need and bring together the right Furza services.
  • Own your opportunities from first meeting to signed deal, then work closely with our delivery teams to make sure we deliver what was promised.
  • Stay close to existing clients, spot new ways to help them and coach your team to have better conversations and build a stronger pipeline.
  • Own your number and keep your forecasts clear, but have the freedom to bring your ideas to how we sell.

Could this be your next move?

This role could suit you if you’re a recruiter who loves winning and growing client accounts but is ready to step away from candidate management. It could also suit you if you’re a BDM selling professional services and want a more varied proposition and a bigger leadership opportunity.

You’ll have a strong record in consultative B2B sales, feel comfortable talking to senior decision makers and enjoy helping others improve. We value people who put the client first, think ahead and follow through, especially when a deal takes work to get right.
