The Role

The Business Development Director is responsible for leading the commercial growth strategy for Active Care Group's Case Management Division. The role will focus on developing, nurturing and strengthening relationships with claimant and defendant solicitors, professional deputies, insurers, case managers, rehabilitation providers and other key stakeholders across the catastrophic injury and complex care sector.

The postholder will act as a senior ambassador for the Case Management Division, raising brand awareness, creating new business opportunities and supporting sustainable revenue growth through strategic networking, relationship management and market engagement.

Working closely with operational leaders and clinical teams, the Business Development Director will ensure that Active Care Group is recognised as the partner of choice for case management and expert-led care services.

What you'll be working

  • Remote working

  • Flexible working hours to support evening networking and relationship-building activities where appropriate.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and deliver the business development strategy for the Case Management Division in line with Group commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share, revenue and referral volumes across the division.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of future referral opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and sector developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders to align business development activity with service delivery capabilities.

Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong, credible and trusted relationships with claimant and defendant solicitors.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with professional deputies, insurers, case managers, rehabilitation professionals, charities and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for strategic external relationships within the sector.
  • Create and implement engagement plans for key accounts and target organisations.
  • Ensure regular contact and relationship-building activity with existing referral partners to maximise retention and referral growth.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships across all stages of the client journey.

Networking and Market Engagement

  • Represent Active Care Group at industry conferences, exhibitions, networking events and professional forums.
  • Develop a comprehensive annual events and networking strategy for the Case Management Division.
  • Maximise opportunities for brand visibility and thought leadership within the legal, insurance and rehabilitation sectors.
  • Build professional networks that generate high-quality introductions and referral opportunities.
  • Support speakers, presentations and sponsorship opportunities that enhance the division's profile and reputation.

Referral Growth and Commercial Performance

  • Support the achievement of referral and revenue targets across the Case Management Division.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of referral trends and conversion rates.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure excellent stakeholder experiences that support repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide regular reporting and forecasting on business development activity, pipeline performance and relationship outcomes.
  • Ensure all activity is recorded accurately within Salesforce CRM.

Brand Development and Marketing

  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop campaigns targeted at solicitors, deputies, insurers and other professional referrers.
  • Support the development of sector-specific content including thought leadership articles, case studies and event materials.
  • Contribute to social media and digital engagement strategies that strengthen Active Care Group's position within the market.
  • Promote the expertise, outcomes and unique value proposition of the Case Management Division.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with divisional leadership teams to identify opportunities for service development and innovation.
  • Share market intelligence and customer feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Act as a role model for relationship-centred business development across the Group.
  • Support colleagues in building commercial awareness and strengthening stakeholder engagement.

  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.

Essential Experience

  • Significant business development experience within healthcare, case management, rehabilitation, legal or insurance sectors.
  • Proven success in developing referral networks and generating sustainable business growth.
  • Experience building relationships with solicitors, professional deputies, insurers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience representing an organisation at conferences, exhibitions and networking events.
  • Experience within catastrophic injury, complex care, rehabilitation or case management services.
  • Existing network of contacts across the legal, insurance or case management sectors.
