Business Overview
With over 50 years of experience, ICE is the UK’s largest independent provider of cleaning equipment. We manage thousands of sites across the UK in a wide variety of sectors including retail, healthcare, warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, and education. As well as supplying and servicing traditional cleaning equipment, we also have over a decade of experience in robotic floor cleaning machines. Please note this role is field based and can be based anywhere in England.

Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to lead our expansion into new markets and drive growth through strategic acquisition of new business. This role is pivotal in identifying new opportunities, forging key partnerships and developing go-to-market strategies for our range of industrial cleaning machines and solutions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate high-potential market segments
- Lead market research initiatives to identify emerging trends, customer needs and competitive analysis to inform decision making
- Proactively generate and convert new leads through networking, cold outreach, events and partnerships
- Build a robust pipeline of opportunities with clear timelines and revenue targets
- Collaborate closely with our Marketing and Technical teams to align offerings with customer needs
- Negotiate contracts, pricing and service agreements with new clients
- Deliver consistent revenue growth in line with KPIs and strategic goals
- Represent the company at relevant industry events and client meetings
- Provide regular performance reports and forecasts to senior management
- Track key metrics including new client acquisition.
- Monitor industry trends and customer feedback to refine commercial strategy
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders
- Identify potential strategic partnerships and negotiate agreements
- Ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Lead the development of proposals, pitches and presentations to secure new business deals
- Collaborate with the Sales Team and Key Accounts Team to drive revenue growth
- Support in introducing new products and innovations to the wider business and customers
- Delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual sales budget
- Management and support of the sales forecasting

Requirements
- Proven track record in business development, ideally within the industrial cleaning industry or similar B2B sectors
- Strong understanding of the company’s industry and market trends
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
- Creative writing and document preparation
- Good understanding and proficient use of Microsoft Office
- Highly self-motivated and organised
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and planning capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in IT, including relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting
- Self-starter with high energy, drive and resilience
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as needed
