Business Development Director
Job Description:
This role is home-based requiring the flexibility to attend in-person meetings.

What you’ll be doing
- Ownership of a complex sales pipeline and driving opportunities from early engagement through to deal closure.
- Delivering annual revenue targets across major public sector procurement pipelines.
- Driving the shaping and pursuit of major opportunities aligned to Capita’s technology enabled BPO vision and core propositions.
- Effective use of sales management tools and industry best practice sales and pursuit planning to drive sales performance and deliver Go to Market ambitions.
- Applying standardised sales approaches to strengthen pursuit, qualification and bid planning.
- Partnering closely with market Development, Win Centre and technology teams across Capita shape and sell compelling, client-focused propositions.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- A strong public sector business development background with experience navigating procurement frameworks, complex stakeholder environments and governance structures.
- Proven experience winning and leading complex, large-scale BPO and transformation opportunities within the public sector, including deals valued at £25m+.
- Experience of selling across contact centres, citizen experience, digital transformation, case management, managed learning and training services, or broader business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions.
- A passion for, and experience of, creating innovative customer solutions that embrace AI and digital transformation.
- Experience designing and selling end-to-end solutions that align to client needs and strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrable success working collaboratively with market development, bid and multi-disciplinary teams to develop compelling customer propositions.
- A strategic, innovative and adaptable approach, with the ability to shape and refine propositions for individual client requirements.

- Knowledge of broader BPO-related solutions and service lines.
- Experience operating across multiple public sector markets, including local government, central government, healthcare, justice or education.
