Business Development Director

The Business Development Director drives strategic commercial growth by securing high-value security contracts across target sectors. This role focuses on winning new enterprise business, expanding market share, and positioning the company as a premium tier-one security provider. The position requires a sophisticated hunter mentality combined with elite corporate relationship-management skills.

Our client is a Fire & Security provider who offers Complete Protection, Remote Viewing, and Expert Fit.

Description

  • Revenue Generation: Own and deliver the annual new-business sales target through proactive market engagement.
  • Pipeline Management: Identify, qualify, and convert a robust pipeline of multi-year corporate contracts.
  • Bid Leadership: Lead bid squads, estimators, and operations teams to build winning, compliant tender submissions.
  • Strategic Networking: Build high-level relationships.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor movements, tracking emerging security regulations, technology shifts, and market pricing structures.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Structure complex commercial agreements that maximize gross profit margins while limiting contractual liability.

Industry Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of senior commercial growth experience within physical guarding, electronic systems, or cyber security.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in securing large corporate contracts.
  • Procurement Expertise: In-depth knowledge of public sector frameworks, OJEU/FTS processes, and corporate RFPs.

Profile

A successful Head of Sales should have:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within the business services industry.
  • A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Experience in analysing market data and developing actionable insights.
  • Confidence in building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
