Business Development Director | Construction, Material Handling & Specialist Logistics
UK | Remote with UK Travel | Permanent
Up to £84,000 Basic + £6,000 Car Allowance + Uncapped Bonus + Benefits
I’m recruiting on behalf of a growing specialist logistics business that partners with some of the biggest names across the construction, engineering, and industrial sectors, delivering mission-critical supply chain solutions where downtime simply isn't an option.
They're looking for an ambitious Business Development Director to drive new logo acquisition and expand their presence across the UK.
If you've sold specialist supply chain logistics services into the construction or material handling sectors, we'd love to speak with you.
Equally, if you're currently selling material handling equipment, construction equipment or related industrial solutions and have an established network of customers, this could be an outstanding opportunity to move into a high-growth logistics business. Full training will be provided on the company's service portfolio—the relationships you've built and your ability to win new business are what matter most.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and execute a strategic new business plan across the UK.
- Identify, engage, and win new enterprise customers.
- Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders across construction, material handling, engineering, and industrial organisations.
- Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through to commercial negotiation and contract award.
- Work alongside operational and solution design teams to develop tailored logistics solutions.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline while consistently exceeding revenue targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
