Business Development Director - Direct Sales

Neos Networks offers alternative working arrangements that give employees some flexibility, including office, home and hybrid working.

Location: Reading (Hybrid working 2/3 days per week)
Contract type: Permanent – full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + performance bonus + benefits covering family, finances and wellbeing

Neos Networks is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Enterprise Sales Director to lead growth across a strategically important part of our business. This is a high-impact leadership role with accountability for revenue, customer growth, sales strategy and team performance.

The Enterprise portfolio spans Finance, System Integrator, Public Sector, Education & Research, Manufacturing and Media markets. These sectors create a diverse and commercially attractive opportunity, from secure, resilient connectivity and partner-led growth to cloud connectivity, high-capacity data movement and digital transformation.

The Role

As Enterprise Sales Director, you will set the direction for sales performance, customer growth and team success across multiple markets, underpinned by Neos Networks’ high-capacity connectivity and critical national infrastructure capabilities. You’ll combine strategic leadership with hands-on sales management, with responsibility for:

  • Setting the sales direction and delivering sustained revenue growth
  • Acting as a senior commercial sponsor for major enterprise customers and strategic pursuits
  • Driving new customer acquisition across the target sectors
  • Managing, leading, and developing a high-performing sales team

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute a clear go-to-market plan
  • Identify new revenue streams across priority markets
  • Align market plans to broader business objectives and customer demand

Strategic Account Ownership

  • Build and maintain senior relationships with major customers and strategic partners
  • Drive account growth, retention and long-term customer value
  • Lead proactive account planning and maximise wallet share

New Business Growth

  • Develop and deliver a targeted new logo acquisition plan
  • Build and maintain a strong, qualified pipeline
  • Build market presence through targeted industry engagement and tailored propositions

Commercial & Financial Ownership

  • Own revenue, growth and margin performance
  • Lead complex deal structuring and negotiations
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline governance

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Account Directors and Executives
  • Set clear KPIs and drive high performance
  • Build a strong talent pipeline and succession plan

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Pre-Sales, Product, Delivery, and Marketing
  • Shape compelling customer propositions and solutions
  • Ensure a smooth transition from sales to delivery

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven leadership experience in Enterprise, Telecoms, Technology, Infrastructure or complex B2B sales
  • Track record of managing major strategic accounts and complex multi-stakeholder opportunities
  • Strong new business and revenue growth delivery
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and deal negotiation skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of one or more relevant sectors, such as Finance, System Integrator, Public Sector, Education & Research, Manufacturing or Media
  • Experience developing sector-specific sales strategies, propositions and account plans
  • Understanding of network/telecom solutions (fibre, ethernet, managed services)
