Through our Data Centres Solutions (DCS) business, we support hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI-driven data centre customers with integrated infrastructure solutions that enhance reliability, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability. As investment in digital infrastructure accelerates across EMEA, we are strengthening our engagement with the MEP consulting community that influences the design, specification, and delivery of next-generation data centres.

Role Overview

The Business Development Director - MEP Consultants will develop and lead Johnson Controls' engagement strategy with leading MEP consultancies and engineering firms across EMEA. This role is responsible for building strategic relationships, influencing project specifications, and positioning Johnson Controls as a preferred partner for integrated data centre solutions.

Success will come from engaging consultants early in the project lifecycle and converting specification influence into long-term growth opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a strategic engagement plan for leading MEP consultancies across EMEA.
  • Build relationships with Mechanical Directors, Electrical Directors, Data Center Practice Leaders, Technical Directors, Design Engineers, and Sustainability Leads.
  • Influence project specifications, standards, and technology selection during the design and planning phases.
  • Position Johnson Controls' Data Center Solutions portfolio, including cooling, controls, building automation, fire protection, security, and digital solutions.
  • Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and educational sessions to strengthen consultant engagement.
  • Identify opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI-focused data center developments.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Represent Johnson Controls at industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations teams to support strategic pursuits and customer opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline, CRM records, and forecasting process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
