This is a rare opportunity to lead investor growth and capital development for a highly successful, values-driven investment business with ambitious expansion plans and a strong track record of performance.
Our client is an established and expanding investment firm with a strong reputation for alignment, long-term value creation, and relationship-led investing. With a highly engaged investor community and an entrepreneurial culture, the business has achieved significant organic growth and is now entering an exciting new phase of growth.
As part of this growth, the business is seeking an exceptional Business Development Director to take ownership of investor origination, engagement, and capital development strategy. This is a highly influential role suited to a commercially astute and relationship-driven individual capable of building a more proactive, scalable, and sophisticated investor engagement function.
The role
- Identify, engage, and convert prospective investors across entrepreneurial, executive, and high-net-worth communities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with both existing and prospective investors through consistent, high-quality engagement
- Lead investor origination and capital development activities, driving growth in both investor quality and overall investment capacity
- Develop and execute a structured investor outreach and engagement strategy to support long-term fundraising objectives
- Increase participation and engagement levels across the current investor network
- Work closely with senior leadership and investment teams to align capital raising activity with wider investment strategy and deal flow
- Represent the business externally with professionalism, credibility, and strong commercial judgement

Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in investor relations, capital raising, business development, or private markets within private equity, investment management, or broader financial services
- Demonstrated success building and developing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, executives, or sophisticated investors
- Strong understanding of investment models, investor expectations, and commercial deal structures
- Commercially driven with the ability to originate and convert opportunities independently
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a high-performance, growth-focused environment
- Strong organisational capability with experience implementing structure and process around business development activities
- High levels of professionalism, credibility, and personal gravitas
