This established manufacturer of cable management systems seeks a Business Development Director to lead their UK projects team and drive strategic sales growth across the UK, developing long-term partnerships with Tier One and Tier Two M&E contractors while securing major project opportunities across the UK. They have an already strong market share across other sectors and are now strengthening their position with major contractors to gain specifications within industry.

This is a genuine strategic leadership role; managing 3 members of the business development and projects team as well as actively selling and winning new business across the Tier 1, M&E Contractors. The BDD will have the autonomy to shape sales strategy, build lasting customer relationships and play a key role in the continued growth of an established UK manufacturer.
The Role
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will:
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on major construction projects and coach your team to achieve this.
- Build and strengthen relationships with Tier One and Tier Two M&E contractors.
- Secure specification opportunities and win high-value tenders.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships with Commercial Directors, Supply Chain, Procurement Teams, Estimating Managers and Project Directors.
- Build and manage a pipeline of major projects from early engagement through to contract award.
- Collaborate with internal commercial, technical and operational teams to deliver sustainable growth.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring:
- A proven history of winning major tenders and high-value projects with Tier One M&E contractors.
- A demonstrable track record of senior business development or commercial leadership experience within the construction, building services or M&E sector.
- An established network of senior decision-makers across leading UK M&E contractors and be ready to leverage your contacts in the role.
- Experience working for a manufacturer, specialist supplier or distributor serving the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of specification selling, project tracking and strategic account management.
- Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation skills and the ability to influence at executive level.
