Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Business Development Account Director, Micronization to join our team. In this role, you will identify, qualify, and pursue business opportunities within your territory, focusing on development and manufacturing services for Micronization products. You will work closely with customers to align their outsourcing needs with our capabilities. This position offers the chance to develop new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships across Europe.
Location: Field Based, UK based Remote
The Role
- Achieve annual sales, revenue, and funnel targets to ensure continued growth.
- Develop and maintain business relationships at all levels to support Catalent’s growth.
- Build relationships with clients to understand applications and generate customer-driven requirements.
- Actively sell to clients in the field, including frequent travel for in-person meetings.
- Maintain contact with existing customers and develop new ones to meet or exceed objectives.
- Deliver sales presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Process & Analytical Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance teams, and work with proposal managers to qualify opportunities and support quotations.
- Participate in European sales meetings, tradeshows, and partnering events.
- Use the CRM database to input and manage information for improved effectiveness.
- Work with Operations, Quality, and Project Management to understand project requirements for accurate and timely quotations.
- Negotiate Confidential Disclosure Agreements, quotations, and Master Service Agreements.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in a Life Sciences discipline.
- Existing knowledge and network in Micronization.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in sales.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in another EU language is a plus.
- Previous experience with a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization essential; ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment.
- Proven ability to build key customer relationships and demonstrate technical value propositions.
- Track record of acquiring new business and negotiating high-value deals.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong presentation and influencing skills.
- Ability to engage with senior-level stakeholders across functions.
- Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented.
- Ability to recognize customer needs and collaborate with clinical areas to develop proposals that exceed expectations.
- Reliable, highly motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, and customer-focused.

Preferred Skills & Background
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization industry.
- Proven experience in the micronization sector with strong market understanding.
- Established network and successful track record of developing business across EU.
- Ability to build relationships and engage effectively with senior executives and key decision-makers.
- Professional, credible, and personable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-driven with a strong hunter mentality, high sense of urgency, and proactive approach to winning new business.
