This is a high-profile, commercially focused role for someone who thrives on being in the market, spotting opportunities and turning strong relationships into successful transactions.
The Opportunity

You’ll originate and secure new commercial and mid-corporate lending opportunities, build a high-quality pipeline and develop a targeted portfolio of long-term customer relationships.
You’ll work closely with business owners, senior management teams, professional advisers, intermediaries and funding partners, positioning the organisation as a trusted partner for complex funding requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Originate, develop and convert new commercial and mid-corporate lending opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong network of customers, professional advisers, intermediaries and funding partners.
- Own opportunities from initial origination through to successful completion.

- Analyse financial accounts, cash flow forecasts and key financial ratios to assess opportunities and support lending decisions.
- Prepare high-quality, commercially focused credit and lending proposals.
- Assess management teams, business performance, strategic plans and potential risks.
- Ensure lending opportunities are aligned with the organisation’s risk appetite and credit standards.
- Collaborate across the wider business to deliver strong commercial outcomes and a simply brilliant customer experience.
- Develop a strong external profile and create a consistent flow of referrals and new opportunities through your network.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
