We're now seeking experienced Business Development Directors across Scotland and the North of England to play a key role in the growth of our lending portfolio and Introducer network.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Bank, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new property lending opportunities, building lasting partnerships and delivering exceptional outcomes for customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven business developer with strong commercial acumen, an established professional network and a passion for helping businesses achieve their ambitions.

What you'll do:

  • Originate and develop new lending opportunities across our target markets.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of Introducers, professional advisers and key business contacts.
  • Develop trusted relationships with prospective and existing customers, understanding their funding needs and providing tailored lending solutions.
  • Manage opportunities through the full lifecycle from introduction to completion.
  • Prepare and present high-quality lending proposals supported by robust financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Operations and Relationship Management teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Represent Alba within the market, attending networking events and industry forums to enhance our profile and generate new business opportunities.
  • Monitor market developments and identify opportunities to support the Bank's growth strategy.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of lending policy, risk appetite, industry sector dynamics and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the continued development of our Introducer proposition and market presence.
  • Support the achievement of lending growth targets while maintaining strong and sustainable credit quality.
  • Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business and sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Be a role model for our Alba Values and Alba ways of working.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven business development experience within commercial banking, property finance, bridging or a related financial services environment.
  • A strong network of Introducers and professional advisers.
  • Demonstrable success in identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the principles of commercial lending, including Loan assessment and Financial analysis.
  • Experienced in structuring and delivering lending solutions for SME and property-backed transactions.
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong proposal and report writing capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness combined with sound judgement and risk awareness.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
  • Relevant banking, lending or financial services qualifications would be advantageous.
