Overview
SatSense is an innovative remote sensing company with unique capabilities and big ambitions. Our satellite radar-derived datasets hold valuable information for infrastructure, transport, property, insurance, utilities, construction, energy and mining applications. We help asset managers and engineers assess and manage risk imposed by historic or ongoing ground and structural movements or changes.
With established long-term customers and consistent year-on-year growth, we are looking for a Business Development Executive to grow with the company. We are led by our technology and a desire to create the best possible insight for our customers. We are an inclusive and flexible team that loves collaborating internally and externally, motivated by a belief that the supportive environment we provide is reflected in the quality of what we deliver.
The Role
Our customers are asset owners, engineers, and the experts who advise them. You will develop new business across our target sectors which include infrastructure, transport, property, insurance, utilities, construction, energy and mining. You will build a pipeline across asset owners, contractors, and consultants.
This role requires someone capable of organising their own time and managing multiple priorities. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for lead generation and executing our sales process. The role is expected to divide into roughly half lead generation and new business development, one quarter proposal and material development, and one quarter existing relationship management.
You will be supported to develop product knowledge and are expected to become a technically competent advocate for SatSense products and services. Excellent communication skills are required for liaising with customers and colleagues, including the preparation and delivery of marketing and presentation materials.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate Skill and Experience
You may have sold technical data, monitoring, or survey services into our markets. Or you may work in them now, as an engineer, geotechnical specialist, or consultant, and want to move into a commercial role. Both are of equal interest to us.
A track record of winning new business with technical products, data, or services, and demonstrable ability to close. We care more about what you have sold and who you know than years served.
Experience with Earth observation, geospatial, ground risk, or monitoring data, either selling it or using it.
An established personal network across civil engineering or our other target sectors.
Familiarity with public sector or client frameworks and how to win work through them would be an advantage.
Experience selling high value, low volume products would be an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Enjoys meeting clients face to face, and willing to travel when and where required to develop relationships and secure business.
Proven ability to work effectively in a remote team and to structure your own week without close supervision.
